NJ Student Charged In $35K School Computer Theft
MILLVILLE, N.J. (CBS) — Police in southern New Jersey have charged a 15-year-old student with stealing $35,000 worth of computers and electronic equipment from Millville Memorial High School.
The boy was stopped shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday by Millville officers who saw him pushing an unusual-looking cart along the street. He was arrested when police learned that the high school had just been burglarized.
Police say they found 24 laptop computers, a video projector and other electronic equipment in the cart and the boy’s backpack.
Investigators believe the boy broke into the school on four different occasions. He is charged with burglary, theft and resisting arrest.
He was released to his mother’s custody. His name was not released because of his age.
