Autistic Man's Death May Land Counselor Behind Bars
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- A counselor at a residential treatment home could face up to 20 years in prison for the death of a young autistic man from Nassau County.
Stacey Strauss, 40, was suspended from her job in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and charged with felony neglect and involuntary manslaughter.
Strauss was accused of leaving 20-year-old Bryan Nevins in a scorching hot van for nearly five hours, where he died.
Nevins' mother and father, a retired New York police officer, live in Oceanside.
