Craig was flyin’ solo today, as Boomer was enjoying a scheduled day-off.  He got things started off by updating everyone on the latest news filtering out from the Francisco Rodriguez arrest story.  Craig said the Mets need to waste no time, do the right thing and rid themselves of this guy.  He went on to say that K-Rod is a douche and just an all around bad guy!!!  Considering what we’ve learned thus far about the incident, it’s kinda hard to argue with Craigie on this one.  We also heard about some back-lash that Rex Ryan is getting regarding his profanity laced dialogue in the first episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks that would make Wally Backman blush…

Plus, an update courtesy of Jerry Recco during which we hear Jeff Francoeur make an ass of himself and John Sterling’s latest nickname for a member of the Bombers, ‘Milking Carton’, some dating tips from Curtis Granderson and a another free meal for the staff, Phil in Long Island strikes out with his attempt at humor and Ernie Acosta and Lupus/Rocco strike out in their attempts to gain the attention of a couple a members of the opposite sex, we learn the difference between landmines and grenades, Jerry offers a descriptive Moment of the Day and I deliver a Blog Spot to put a bow on things…

During Jerry’s 6:30 update he played a cut of Jeff Francoeur commenting on the K-Rod incident, saying he hopes it acts as a spark and gets the team going. For the life of him, Craig could not understand why no Mets player, other than Angel Pagan – who said he was glad his family wasn’t around to see the ugly scene, has not spoken up and called K-Rod out for his inexcusable actions. Then we heard from Yankees radio play-byplay man John Sterling, as he unveiled a new nickname for Austin Kearns, who hit his first long ball last as a Yankee last night, in the Bombers 4-3 win over the Kansas City Royals…

Curtis Granderson put in a little extra-time with Yankees hitting coach Kevin Long and his hard work seems to have paid off, as he collected two hit in this three plate appearances last night and even collected an RBI. Afterwards, he was understandably feeling pretty confident, so he offered a few dating tips. Granderson’s advice reminded Craig of his days of playing the field, specifically an interesting couple of dates he went on with a member of the opposite sex…

Our boy Phil from Long Island is a regular caller to the Show and he is usually good for a couple of good jokes a week.  Today Craig wasn’t on the same page with poor Phil as he lambasted him for his attempt at humor.  Then we got an update from both Ernie Acosta , who produces Mid-Day Show here at the FAN, and our very own Lupus/Rocco, on their respective progress in the date department.  I guess progress was probably the wrong word to choose as it turns out both of them will be spending yet another lonely weekend by themselves…Embarrassing…
