Angry Parents Shut Down NYC Schools Meeting

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Some angry parents brought a City schools meeting to a grinding halt in Manhattan.

A crowd of more than 50 parents and students protested before Monday night's meeting where City education officials talked about a sharp drop in the percentage of students passing state exams.

Inside, the shouting continued until Schools Chancellor Joel Klein and the rest of the panel left the stage.

The meeting was adjourned until next month.

The protesters vowed they would return.
