NJ Little League Team World Series-Bound

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (CBS 2) -- A Little League team from Toms River was savoring a big victory Tuesday.

Big hits from pinch hitter Michael Tiplady led the team to the Little League World Series.

They beat the team from Newtown, Pennsylvania by a score of eight to five to win in the mid-Atlantic regionals.

Toms River won the World Series 12 years ago, about the same time some of the team's current players were born.

Little Leaguers from Fairfield also advanced to the World Series this weekend.
