LISTEN: 1010 WINS’ Mona Rivera reports

Jack Cassidy (pictured), 18, of Cold Spring Harbor, and a 14-year-old boy were arrested Sunday morning after an officer on patrol in Huntington found them in a car that matched the description of a vehicle that had been seen following several acts of criminal mischief in the area, police said.

Both teens were charged with 12 counts of criminal mischief. Cassidy was also charged with soliciting the 14-year-old boy to commit a felony.

“This is just straight out violence,” Ron Antonino, whose car windows were shattered, said.  “Kids like this someday may be serial killers.”

They probably just need a good hug and to know that somebody loves them.

So when can we start sterilizing diseased genes like these imbeciles and it’s family? Problems solved in 1-to-2 generations.

So senseless they must have some serious anger issues. I wonder how he would like the windows of his brand new car smashed. What possessed them to do this for so long. The parents should definitely be on a hook, it was their teenagers that did it. I hope they get some serious time and keep them off the streets.

I hope their parents are on the hook for the full amount of the vandalism spree. They raised them and it seems they did a terrible job.

You are a very very stupid person. You know NOTHING about the parents of this boy and if you did you would retract your ignorant comment. This boy was adopted at age 5 from Russia with severe mental disorders and polio. They have devoted much of their time and money to his therapy and help for years and this thing had NOTHING to do with their parenting but with the hardships that he went through as a small child. They have other children who are the nicest most genuine kids you could ever come across and would never be a part of such mischief. It has everything to do with his mental disorders and nothing to do with the parents. They will be paying the damage because those are the kind of people they are but you should know more before saying something so arrogant.

Lighten up Susan. Which boy had the “problems”? The 18 year old or 14 year old? Even the 14 year old should know better than this if he was the “healthy” one. This was a terrible and senseless crime and it’s hard not to become angry when one hears of random destruction such as this.
People should be aware that even if a child has the best parents in the world they can still do terrible things. The human mind is complex.
It will be hard to find out which cars they destroyed and which ones (if any) were copy-cat crimes. Hopefully everyone gets there deductable taken care of. It still goes on one’s insurance a claim though.
What a waste and a pain in the ass.

  • Pete

wow I wonder what he’s going to be doing in the future…scary

  • Louis Verrone

I agree that this is a very serious crime. Anyone who could commit such a sensless, random act is a sick and dangerous person. There was nothing for these idiots to gain–nothing!!!

Please don’t let these dirtbags off easy.

  • JO

why would these kids do this? Is this their idea of fun
