Bracelet's Owner Found Decades After It Was Lost

BABYLON, NY (WCBS 880) - Suzan Abruzzi would not give up.

LISTEN: WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reports from Long Island

It all began in 1994 when Suzan was at the beach at Robert Moses State Park on Long Island and she found a silver and gold lifeguard bracelet with the name "Dan Konz."

"Dan Konz was the same name as a manager that I had when I was a worker at Friendly's years ago," Abruzzi told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall.

The problem was that she could not find Dan. So, she put the bracelet into her jewelry box until a few weeks ago, when she met two people who were lifeguards. They helped her find Dan in Illinois.

Abruzzi said, "It was great to speak to him and he said that getting the bracelet back is going to bring back great memories. He said those were the greatest days of his life."

It turns out that Dan lost the bracelet in 1958, while he was surfing.

He plans to come to Long Island to retrieve the bracelet next summer.
