Police ID Man Found Shot To Death In Brentwood Park

BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (AP/1010 WINS/CBS 2) -- Police said a man was found shot to death in a Long Island park.

Suffolk County police said the body of 19-year-old Rigoberto Gomez, of Bay Shore, was discovered at 2:31 a.m. Tuesday in Freeman Avenue Park in Brentwood.

They said someone called 911 to report shots being fired there.

Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call its Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
