NEW YORK (1010 WINS/CBs 2/AP) – A 10-year-old Brooklyn boy was watching television when the real world intruded.
LISTEN: 1010 WINS’ John Montone reports
Police say Khalil Robinson was shot at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday night when two bullets crashed through the living room and struck him once in the neck and once in the back in a first-floor apartment on Blake Avenue.
The boy was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was in stable condition.
Two groups of young men were reportedly shooting at each other outside the apartment. No arrests have been made.
Police say they are investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
“They pulled out two bullets from the couch, it’s ridiculous you can’t even sit in your own home and watch TV,” Kevin McCall of the Brooklyn-East New York Crisis Team said. I can understand if the young man was on the steet but he was in his house watching the Blues Clues on the television.”
Community activists say the incident is a call for action against gun violence and they’re trying to organize a city-wide summit.

Sad ,sad world when someone makes a comment like, “I can understand if he was on the street”. I know what the person meant when he made that comment but it’s ridiculous to think you can’t even safely walk a street anymore

This will stop when each and every one of these type of people are dead. Not just sent to prison…BUT DEAD!
There should be a bounty on their head.

Rick….I pray that you’re wrong. I hope this KID remembers that he was a victim of gun violence & goes into a totally different direction.

I pray this child doesn’t grow up to become like the loser (s) that shot him in his
own home. Lord be with him and his family.

that is just a shame when you can’t even be safe in your own living-room minding
your own business and having some no-good account creep shooting into your
home hitting you. What is this world coming to?

New York City and young black men. I doubt this will ever change. In a few years this victim will be a shooter.

right, it’s “gun violence” that’s to blame–after all, these community activists would never think of protesting the savages who pull the trigger.
