Fire Rips Through Row Of Amityville Shops

AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (CBS 2/AP) — Firefighters from seven Long Island departments battled a fast-moving fire along a row of stores in Amityville.
   
There were no reports of injuries.
   
The fire was reported at 3:01 a.m. Thursday at a shopping center along Montauk Highway and Route 110. A portion of the roadway was closed to traffic for several hours.

The blaze was brought under control at about 11 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

It is not yet known how many stores have been damaged.

    The buliding was at least 75 years old. DJ Royce bought it in th emid 90s and renovated it. The business you refer to must have been the Alure hairdresser one. I know I paid my rent in full every month. Why would anyone allow a tenant to accrue that much debt and not throw them out?
