NEW YORK (CBS 2) — Holiday weekend travel was back to normal Saturday.

Amtrak resumed regular service along the Northeast Corridor, following cancellations brought on by Tropical Storm Earl.

Northeast Regional Trains 195 and 150 were the first to operate between Boston and New York.

Service disruptions left thousands of passengers at Penn Station Friday scrambling to find a way out. Amtrak suspended service between New York and Boston after a tree fell across electrical lines in Connecticut.
