Ritz-Carlton Suggested For Affordable Housing
WHITE PLAINS, NY (WCBS 880) - The Ritz-Carlton in White Plains is not really the place that you could picture affordable housing units.

However, developer Louis Cappelli is required to provide affordable housing units in the city and the deadline is October 1.
Putting them in the Ritz was suggested by the Common Council with half a smile.
"It was a condition for his buildings that have gone up in recent years," Common Council Member David Buchwald told WCBS 880 reporter Catherine Cioffi.
Buchwald realizes they probably wont be put in the Ritz, but he said if they do, that'd be great, saying, "The most important thing is that the people who need affordable housing receive what has been promised."
