B&C Show Blog & Audio: Rex Scales Back

Bobby Dwyer

Oh those 'Same Old Jets'…The legendary 'Broadway' Joe Namath takes to Twitter and rips his beloved Gang Green for their pitiful performance on Monday night against the Ravens.  Speaking of the prime-time stinker, Rex Ryan addressed the media and said it's time to scale back the offensive attack led by Mark Sanchez that could only muster up three FG's in the season opener.  Boomer and Craig had plenty to say about those 'Same Old Jets' this morning to open-up the Big Wednesday Program…

Jerry had a lot to cover during his first update of the day, so he got right to it.  He got things started with the Yankees beating the Tampa Bay Rays in an extra-inning affair and grabbing hold of first place in the AL East by ½ a game over the same Rays.  After that Craig let everyone know what he thinks about Pittsburgh and then tests the staff about semi-aquatic mammals and web toed girls…

Phil from Long Island is a regular caller to the Show and this morning he put Mark Sanchez's Monday night performance against the Ravens into perspective when he compared it to that of Al Dukes, who threw 5 interceptions in his co-ed flag football season debut.  Boomer is a former quarterback you know, (1988 NFL MVP - Come Get Some!!!) and he took a look at the films of Al trying to recapture his youth and he was far from impressed…

I guess the NHL must be starting up again pretty soon because today Al booked Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist to join Boomer and Craig in-studio to talk a little hockey.  As the anticipation grew, so did Boomer's smile and when Henrik arrived, the Boom's put on his Rangers jersey, took the interview over and got to talk a little Rangers hockey…

John Starks also made the trip to Manhattan today to talk with Boomer & Craig face-to-face.  Starks played for the Knicks from 1990-98 and was a fan favorite throughout.  He still works with the team as an Alumni and Fan Development Advisor and serves as a pre-and-post game analyst for Knicks home games on MSG.  He talked about his fond memories of playing for the Knicks, of course Craig asked him about 'The Dunk' which took place during the 1993 playoffs against the Bulls.  He also spoke positively about the current Knicks and their off-season additions, highlighted by the signing of Amare Stoudemire…
