NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - Lin-Manuel Miranda, the Tony Award-winning man who brought us “In The Heights” on Broadway, got married the other weekend, but it was no ordinary wedding.

Miranda married his sweetheart, Vanessa Nadal, on September 5.

When Miranda’s new father-in-law got up to make a toast during the reception, what happened next was quite a surprise for the bride.

A full-fledged musical broke out on the dance floor – staged by the wedding guests.

Miranda won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Original Score Written for the Theatre (both music and lyrics) and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical – all for “In The Heights.”
