Kids Still Have First Day Of School Blues?

WHITE PLAINS, NY (WCBS 880) - The first day of school was a few weeks ago, and still, for many parents and little ones who started school for the first time, the tears and the cries for mom persist.

"Always, when you have new children starting, some separation anxiety is to be expected," Mohawk County Day School director Barbara Schainman told WCBS 880 reporter Catherine Cioffi.

Schainman says, "If a parent is anxious, a child feels that intensely."

Schainman says that if you're worried about your child's tears in the morning, talk to their teacher and develop a plan.
