HAUPPAUGE, NY (AP / WCBS 880) - A tire flew off a car traveling on the Long Island Expressway and smashed into a tour bus windshield heading in the opposite direction.

Four passengers on the bus suffered minor injuries.
Michael Sharkey of the Suffolk County sheriff’s office says the accident happened at about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday.
The car was going eastbound when the front right tire came off the vehicle. It flew over a concrete divider and smashed into the windshield of the tour bus, which was going west.
A spokeswoman for the bus company, Hampton Jitney, said 19 people were aboard the bus. It was booked for a private tour of an upstate culinary institute.
No one in the car was injured.
