NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide involving a 80-year-old man found dead at his Staten Island home.
Harold Delmar Sr. was found stabbed twice in the neck inside his Midland Beach home, where he lived with his wife, early Wednesday.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said investigators believe Delmar was stabbed to death by his adult son.
Police say the son fled in a car that was later found on fire in Bayville, N.J.
Kelly said the son lived in a pink-colored tent in the backyard of the Mason Avenue home. A neighbor told 1010 WINS’ Carol D’Auria that Delmar wouldn’t allow his son into the house because he refused to take his medication.
Authorities were trying to determine if a body in the driver’s seat was that of the son– who is one of seven children.
