Mets’ Jerry Manuel On The FAN

NEW YORK (WFAN) — Mets manager Jerry Manuel joined Mike Francesa on Tuesday for the final time this season. Manuel discussed his contract status with the Mets, and his team’s performance in 2010.

“I think for the most part you’re somewhat disappointed that you didn’t make [the playoffs]. On the flipside, with the youth, they bring some energy, enthusiasm, that type of thing,” Manuel said. “We’re trying to see where these pieces could fit for the future.”

With speculation flying about Manuel’s future following a sub-par 2010 season, Jerry addressed his run as Mets manager.

“It’s been a tremendous, tremendous experience for me,” said Manuel. “It’s disappointing and discouraging because it feels  like I never had all my pieces at the same time. That part probably bothers me more than anything else.”
