RYE, NY (WCBS 880) – Police are still trying to piece together who would throw a Molotov cocktail through a New York City developer’s window in Rye.
The liter-sized bottle caused a fire in Jonathan Resnick’s living room.
He was treated for smoke inhalation, along with his wife and son.
Detective Lieutenant Joseph Verille says this was not a random act.
“Well, it’s hard to say, but usually, this type of crime is a target. It’s usually not a random incident when it’s directed at a private home,” Verille told WCBS 880 reporter Catherine Cioffi.
Police believe the liquid inside the bottle was possibly grain alcohol because of the way it burned.
