NJ Couple Stabbed During Robbery

SEASIDE PARK, N.J. (AP) – Authorities said a central New Jersey couple were stabbed when an assailant broke into their apartment.

Mark Snitzer, 37, of Seaside Heights was arrested at 8 a.m. Sunday, about 12 hours after the incident at the Seaside Park apartment of Barry and Tabitha Culver.

The couple remained hospitalized Sunday afternoon in stable condition, but further details on their injuries were not disclosed.

Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office would not say whether anything was stolen or if Snitzer knew either victim. He faced two counts each of attempted murder and attempted robbery and a weapons offense, and was being held in the county jail on $750,000 bail.

It was not immediately known if Snitzer had retained a lawyer.

To the Perpetrator: You are now a FUGITIVE. You had better climb on a spacecraft and head for the Moon. If you stay on Earth they’re going to hunt you down and take you down just like the animal that you are.

A problem a shotgun would have solved!

Precisely. NJ has some of the strictest gun control in the nation. The effect is to deprive good citizens of the ability to defend themselves. But even in NJ, one can own a gun in one’s own home and use it in self-defense. Too bad these two didn’t do that – otherwise, the couple might have no injuries, a very bad criminal might never be bothering anyone again, and the public might not be wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars prosecuting and jailing him.
