Authorities: NJ Inmate Tried To Have Heroin Mailed

NEPTUNE, N.J. (AP) -- An inmate who officials say tried to have heroin mailed to him at a jail in Freehold Township will face additional drug charges.

Monmouth County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cynthia Scott said 25-year-old Ryan C. Natusch of Atlantic Highlands has been charged with conspiracy to possess heroin.

An additional $5,000 was added to his bail amount.

Scott says that on Sept. 28, Natusch attempted to receive mail containing heroin while in custody at the jail.

Natusch has been in jail since Sept. 16 on other drug charges. His new total bail amount is $10,000.
