CARLE PLACE, NY (WCBS 880) - It may not be the scariest Halloween costume ever, but the BP oil spill outfit is definitely unique.

“Those customers are all looking for unique and unusual costumes,” Alan Geller of Fun World in Carle Place told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs. “They buy some traditional, but they are always looking for more edgy, topical costumes and even a little controversial is okay.”

Xirinachs asked, “…and the BP oil costume fits right in?”

Geller answered, “The Bad Planning costume definitely fits right in.”

In this case, BP stands for bad planning for legal reasons.

It’s popular, according to Geller, who says, “We’ve sold in excess of 10,000 costumes.”

How’s that for scary?
