Ghailani Terror Trial To Continue Without Key Witness
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- A terror trial in Manhattan will move ahead without the star witness.
Opening statements were expected Tuesday in the trial of Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani, the first Guantanamo Bay detainee to face a civilian trial.
He was charged with conspiring to blow up U.S. embassies in Africa in 1991.
More than 220 people were killed.
Last week, the judge excluded the government's star witness.
Prosecutors announced Sunday they won't appeal, saying they already have enough evidence for a conviction.
