NEW YORK (AP) – Actress Demi Moore is offering two 19th century European paintings at auction, including a French work that could fetch up to $1.5 million.
An 1887 oil by French artist William Bouguereau, called “Frere et Soeur,” will be offered on Nov. 4 at Sotheby’s.
It will be auctioned with “Mere et Ses Enfants” by Belgian painter Alfred Stevens. That work is estimated to bring up to $200,000.
Moore acquired both paintings in 1995 at a Christie’s auction. She stands to make a nice profit on the French painting — she paid $178,500 for it.
Moore is known for her work in such films as “Ghost” and “Indecent Proposal.” She’s reportedly selling the paintings because she’s ready for something new.
