NEW YORK (CBS 2/AP) – Police say a plainclothes officer pursuing a suspect into a Brooklyn building was shot and wounded in the leg. The suspect also was shot and wounded in the leg.

The officer was taken to Kings County Hospital, and the suspect was taken to Brookdale Hospital, to be treated for their injuries. Both were listed in stable condition on Sunday night.

Neither one of the men was identified.

Police say they are investigating the shooting, which happened about 8 p.m.

They say officers were pursuing the suspect into a building on Bradford Street when shots rang out between the third floor and the roof. No other injuries were reported.

if he was aiming to kill he would have aimed at his head or upper chest..unless the perp did a cart wheel to avoid it im sure he didnt aim to kill..

Actually… if required to use deadly force officers should aim to kill (at the center of mass) for all suspects/perpetrators. Being shot at does require a response of deadly force.

My question is… how do you know or why do you assume the perp was black or hispanic?

Prejudiced much?

And to the others that are disappointed the perp wasn’t killed… how do you know the officer DIDN’T aim to kill and the suspect just moved.
