Christie Keeps Denying Presidential Aspirations

TRENTON, NJ (WCBS 880) - New Jersey Governor Chris Christie says there are two reasons he's been campaigning around the country for fellow GOP members.

LISTEN: WCBS 880's Levon Putney reports

"First, because there were a lot of people who helped me last year - Republicans around the country," says Christie.

Second, he says it's a great chance to re-brand New Jersey.

"As soon "The Sopranos" started making money on HBO, every nudnik with a TV station decided that making fun of New Jersey could be profitable."

So, he says he's out there saying the state is cutting spending without raising taxes, but stresses, again, that he's not running for president.

Christie says, "If nominated, I shall not run. If elected, I shall not serve. How about that? I'll try that one tonight."
