Cops: Several Hurt At NY College Off-Campus Dorm

LOCH SHELDRAKE, N.Y. (AP) -- Authorities say five students at an upstate New York community college were stabbed during a fight at an off-campus party, but their injuries aren't serious.

Vincent Begley, a Sullivan County Community College spokesman, says the stabbings happened early Friday morning in the hamlet of Loch Sheldrake, 85 miles northwest of New York City.

Begley says the party was at the Edgewood Dorms, a privately owned rental complex. He says some students live there, but it isn't affiliated with the college.

He says four students were treated at a local hospital and released. A fifth suffered facial cuts and was transferred to Westchester Medical Center.

Police haven't released any other information about the fight or how it started.
