B&C Show Blog & Audio: Knock Out Kings

Bobby Dwyer

The Giants traveled to 'Big-D' and left with a 'Big-Win'.  Despite falling behind 20-7 early on, Eli Manning was able to overcome three interceptions and lead the Giants to an impressive 41-35 win.  It wasn't all Eli and the offense though, Big Blue's defense knocked Tony Romo out of the game and probably out for the season, Romo marks the fifth signal caller they have sent to the showers early as they develop quite a reputation around the league.  With the win, the Giants are 5-2 and the Jets, who had a bye sit at 5-1 and according to Craig, New York is officially a two football team town.  Speaking of whose town this is, the Yankees may be done playing for the season, but that doesn't mean there is nothing to talk about.  Word is Joe Girardi may get a new contract as early as today; he is currently not under contract.  Considering he didn't get an extension after winning the World Series last year, Craig wonders what the rush is to resign him after losing in the ALCS.  Boomer says he is clearly the guy, so just sign him and get ready for next season…

Jerry had a lot to get to during his first update of the day and it didn't help that he spent half of his time arguing with Craig about the worth, or lack thereof, of Tony Romo in the Cowboys offensive attack.  He also found time to update the status of Darrelle Revis and everything else going on in the world of sports…

Jenn Sterger is the gal that Brett Favre has admitted to leaving voicemails for during his time with the Jets.  He also allegedly sent her pictures of his junk for some reason or another (wink-wink).  Sterger has elected not to talk about the on-going saga publicly and according to reports, she has lost 9 lbs. off her already petite frame, due to stress from the situation.  Craig showed very little sympathy for the dwindling Sterger…

The Yankees have more than a few big decisions to make this off season.  The contracts of Joe Girardi, Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter are all up and the rest of the team is not getting any younger.  Boomer and Craig discussed how they think the Bomber's upper-brass should handle this off-season in the Bronx…

Edward Burns is an actor, writer, producer and director of films, was born in Woodside, Queens and grew up in Valley Stream on Long Island.  So all of that combined made him just the perfect guest to join Boomer & Craig in-studio this morning, so Al booked him.  He talked about his latest movie, 'Nice Guy Johnny', about an aspiring sports broadcaster named Johnny, which he premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival back in April.  He also talked about his career both in front of the camera and behind the scenes and what it's like being married to former Calvin Klein model, Christy Turlington (with all due respect to Mr. Burns – Hellooooo Christy!!!)…

Lou in Staten Island called the guys up and his patience tested when Craig asked him to pronounce the names Girardi and Jaworski until he got them right.  Then we heard about a 41 year-old, single man in Harlem named Malik Turner, who was tired of not having a girlfriend so he took matters in to his own hands by posting hand written personal ads in phone booths around the city .  An idea that wasn't lost on Al and Lupus/Rocco…

Taking a que from ole 'Romeo' himself Malik Turner, Al and Lupus/Rocco decided to write-up their very own personal ad's with the hopes of finding love in the city.  Craig read them on the air as Boomer sat in disbelief…
