1. Boise State (6-0): The Broncos will attempt to remain undefeated when they take on Louisiana Tech tonight. Boise has done nothing for me to knock them off the top spot. They’re the best team in the country until proven otherwise… This week: Louisiana Tech

2. Oregon (7-0): The Ducks have become everyone’s darlings now that Oklahoma lost. It’s amazing what Chip Kelly’s team has been able to do considering the turnover they’ve had from last year. There’s a lot of football left, but Oregon does control their own destiny in the national title race… This week: @ USC

3. Auburn (8-0): It hasn’t always been easy, but this Tiger team just finds ways to win. The SEC is down this year, but it’s always impressive whenever a team makes it to the end of October with a perfect record. Quarterback Cam Newton may very well be the leader of the Heisman race… This week: @ Mississippi

4. Michigan State (8-0): The Spartans survived a scare from Northwestern to remain undefeated. With all the talk of Ohio State, Wisconsin and Iowa – it’s Michigan State who has the inside track to the Big 10 title. Mark Dantonio has one of the most balanced teams in the country… This week: @ Iowa

5. Alabama (7-1): The Tide crushed Tennessee 41-10 and no one’s talking about it – just the way Nick Saban and company like it. Alabama is enjoying the rare chance to fly under the radar. They face 3 ranked teams in their final 4 games – none bigger than their finale against rival Auburn… This week: Bye

6. Wisconsin (7-1): Anybody who knows me knows I love this Wisconsin team. They have two marquee wins (Ohio State & Iowa) and have only lost once, and that was to undefeated Michigan State. They have a favorable schedule the rest of the way and should end up in a big bowl game at 11-1… This week: Bye

7. TCU (8-0): The Horned Frogs were slow out of the gates once against on Saturday. They did end up making easy work of Air Force in their 38-7 win, but I do worry about the slow starts they’ve been having. If they have the same problem against a legitimate team they’ll be in trouble… This week: @ UNLV

8. Missouri (7-0): The Tigers were the big winners last week. They took down the then #1 BCS team Oklahoma in convincing fashion. Mizzou was a team looking to make a statement and take the next step as a program – they sure accomplished both against the Sooners… This week: @ Nebraska

9. Utah (7-0): Jordan Wynn led the attack once again for the Utes who put up 648 yards on Colorado State in their 59-6 thrashing of the Rams. We’ll see how good this team really is on November 6th when they get a visit from the TCU Horned Frogs… This week: @ Air Force

10. Ohio State (7-1): A week removed from their upset loss at Wisconsin, the Buckeyes bounced back in dominating fashion as they blew out Purdue 49-0 in the Horseshoe. Unfortunately, Ohio State will need for a million things to go their way for them to accomplish the goals they had coming into the season… This week: @ Minnesota
