Fire Officials Investigate Fatal Blaze On L.I.

BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (AP) — A Long Island man described by neighbors as a “very nice guy” has died in a fire at his Brentwood home.

Suffolk County police said 42-year-old Sean Sheridan was pronounced dead following the early-morning fire Sunday. His body was found in the basement of the home.

Neighbors said they believed Sheridan lived in the home with his mother.

Police were investigating the cause of the fire, but said it does not appear to be suspicious.
