STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut has swept the Big East conference’s weekly football awards after beating West Virginia for the first time ever.
Tailback Jordan Todman, who rushed for 113 yards on 33 carries in Friday’s 16-13 overtime win, was named the conference’s offensive player of the week.
Linebacker Sio Moore, who had 17 tackles in the game, forced two fumbles and recovered two others, was named defensive player of the week.
Special teams honors went to kicker Dave Teggart, who had three field goals, including the 27-yarder in overtime that gave UConn the win, their first over the Mountaineers in seven tries.
The Huskies (4-4, 1-2 Big East) are off this week. They host Pittsburgh (5-3, 3-0) on Nov. 11.
