Podcast

"You want them to understand that we have a system where we elect the people who run the government," Steven Goldberg, President of the National Council for the Social Studies told WCBS 880 reporter Catherine Cioffi.

Goldberg says, however, that you shouldn't overload your kids with information

"I think you want to basically indicate that, in a democracy, people run opposite each other and they have different views," Goldberg says.

He says to teach them that you vote every year, not just on a Presidential year.

"You want to take kids as young as you can, so they see you voting," says Goldberg.
