B&C Show Blog & Audio: Yankees Fans, Oh Yeah

Bobby Dwyer

Before his team lost in Game 5 of the World Series to the San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers owner Chuck Greenberg made some comments about his experience at Yankee Stadium during the ALCS.  He referred to the fans in the Bronx as awful and violent, among other things and Craig (Yankee fans like myself) took offense.  He suspects that Greenberg’s comments may have been an attempt to deter Cliff Lee from signing with the Bombers, by casting them in a bad light, but Craigie took it as a slap in the face and moved forward on that premise.  Greenberg has since apologized to Hal Steinbrenner for his comments.  Speaking of a slap in the face, less than a month ago the Vikings traded a third round draft pick to the Patriots for the ultra-talented Randy Moss, only to waive him yesterday after his post game comments following the Vikings loss to the Pats didn’t sit well.  Boomer and Craig discuss where Moss could end up catching passes next and the ripple effect this controversial personal move could have.  All of that and to Boomer’s delight, Craig took the Carton Family to the Garden last night and they enjoyed some Rangers hockey…

Jerry’s first update of the day was focused on the Giants winning their first World Series title since 1954; the team was still playing in New York back then. Ron Darling is hosting a ‘Texas Hold’em & Casino Night’ Thursday night (November 4th) with all proceeds benefitting the Ron Darling Foundation, so he joined the guys to talk about it.  Ron was so excited to come on that he forgot to give out the number(s) for you to call in order to be part of the great event, so here they are (516) 466-0177 or (914) 332-4772.  While they had Ronnie on the horn, B&C talked a little baseball with him and he had a few interesting things to say about the Mets new GM Sandy Alderson and the organization as a whole…

Awhile back, when Boomer & Craig made the trip to Citi Field to drum-up some interest in the Mets free agency signings back in 2008, they crossed paths with a young man named Daniel Scheinman.  Since then, Daniel has been diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease and he stopped by today to tell the guys what a positive influence they have had on him and talk about ‘Team Challenge’, which is a group of dedicated coaches and athletes working together to further the Mission of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA)…

Is it me or is Boomer hand in that guys crotch area?!

    Bad job Mikey!

  3. Bernard says:

Hey Boom can you pipe down on the Monday night games and let the color guy call the game without you interrupting?
I listen to the game on my radio as I can not afford cable/tv and I usually enjoy the event more than watching it on tv at a bar or a friends house, but you have got to “pipe” down sometime and let the game breathe for gods sake.

Thanks and have a good day 11-02-10
