Mayor Bloomberg Heads To China

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will assume chairmanship of what’s called the C-40 climate leadership group.

WCBS 880’s Rich Lamb reports

It’s a group of major world cities committed to slowing climate change.

Bloomberg is traveling to China for the meeting, where they’ll be riding Chinese transit systems, plus discussing electric vehicles and green building techniques.

But the mayor has another agenda while he’s in Asia.

“It’s also a chance for us to explain to business people in Hong Kong why, if they want to build a business in the United States, New York’s the city to come to,” says Bloomberg.

We need jobs in the city, and, said the mayor, he’ll do anything and go any place in the world to get people to come here.
