New Michael Jackson Album Set For Dec. Release

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The proclaimed "King of Pop" may be gone, but he's not forgotten - and apparently, he's not done selling records.

A posthumous album from Michael Jackson is set to be released on Dec. 14 by Epic Records, according to an announcement from the late pop star's official Web site.

The album will be titled "MICHAEL" and will be released in conjunction with the Estate of Michael Jackson. Fans will get their first taste on Saturday, when "Breaking News," the first single from the record, will be released to the public.

The album was a product of the final years of Jackson's life, during which he was writing and recording songs consistently.

Earlier this week, the creators of Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson production, "Neverland Ranch," announced they would be taking the show on the road.

The tour will kick off in Montreal next October and hit 30 cities including New York, Miami, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. John Branca, co-executor of Jackson's estate, said that depending on fan response, it could be extended beyond its planned end in the summer of 2012 and travel outside of North America.
