NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a former police officer with a history of legal problems was among two men found shot to death in a Newburgh home.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown, reported Saturday that one of the victims discovered Thursday inside the vacant house was Francis Piscopo, a former sergeant with the Lloyd police department.

Since leaving the force in 1990, Piscopo has faced charges of dealing marijuana, intimidating a witnesses and stealing baseball gloves and a chain saw from his old department. Police haven’t identified any suspects in the killings.
