Residents Still Out Of Homes After Garage Collapse

HACKENSACK, N.J. (CBS 2) -- They were kicked out of their Hackensack apartments by a parking garage collapse over the summer, and now they'll have to wait a little longer to return to their high-rise homes.

Officials said they were hoping to re-open the 18-story Prospect Towers by next week, but instead they think it won't happen until December.

In July, a 20-foot long steel and clear acrylic canopy and two floors of a three-level garage partially collapsed.

A second section came down a day later, severing utility lines.

Nobody was hurt.
