ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Sen. Charles Schumer was set to thank voters across upstate New York six days after winning a third term.

Schumer planned to meet voters Monday at shopping malls in and around Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo. The veteran Democrat on Tuesday defeated Republican Jay Townsend by 32 points to win another six-year term.

Schumer also was scheduled to appear with local business and community leaders at each stop to talk about the economy, jobs and helping the middle class.
