1. Boise State (8-0): The Broncos dismantled a pretty good Hawaii team 42-7. Kellen Moore threw for a career-high 507 yards and 3 touchdowns, while the defense hounded Hawaii’s “prolific” offense, sacking quarterback Bryant Moniz 7 times and holding the Rainbow Warriors to just 196 total yards … This week: @ Idaho

2. Oregon (9-0): The Ducks quickly shook their early-game struggles en route to a 53-16 bashing of the Washington Huskies. Chip Kelly’s team is clicking on all cylinders and have been for virtually the entire season. I can’t see them slipping up… This week: @ California

3. Auburn (10-0): Any doubts about how Cam Newton would handle playing under the microscope after the shady recruiting allegations went flying out the window as he passed for 317 yards and accounted for 5 touchdowns in the Tigers 62-24 thrashing of Chattanooga … This week: Georgia

4. TCU (10-0): The Horned Frogs were far and away the most impressive team of the week as they beat up and embarrassed the Utah Utes in Salt Lake City. What was built as the showdown of the weekend turned ugly as TCU went on to win 47-7… This week: San Diego State

5. Wisconsin (8-1): The Badgers beat up the lowly Purdue Boilermakers 34-13 while showing off their depth at running back. They were without James White, and John Clay was banged up – but Montee Ball was able to carry the load rushing for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns… This week: Indiana

6. Stanford (8-1): The Cardinal keep getting better and better, as evidence by their dominating 42-17 victory over previously 15th ranked Arizona. Andrew Luck continued to make his statement for the Heisman, passing for 293 yards and 2 touchdowns… This week: @ Arizona State

7. LSU (8-1): The Tigers picked up a huge win knocking off nemesis Alabama in Baton Rouge. Amazingly, LSU was a step ahead of Nick Saban’s group hitting on big play after big play. Their offense was mistake-free and their defense shut down the Tide’s dynamic weapons… This week: LA-Monroe

8. Ohio State (8-1): The Buckeyes are coming off a bye week and it came at a good time. They are somewhat flying under the radar (which is always a good thing) after being upset by Wisconsin a few weeks back. They have a tough road ahead but the Rose Bowl is still well within reach… This week: Penn State

9. Michigan State (9-1): The Spartans are another team with the Big 10 title in mind. They rolled over Minnesota 31-8 on Saturday and looked good doing so led by Edwin Baker’s 179 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns… This week: Bye

10. Nebraska (8-1): The Cornhuskers played Iowa State without quarterback Taylor Martinez and were lucky to come out alive in their 31-30 overtime win. Nebraska has all the talent in the world, but they can get lazy and go through mental and physical lapses. Not a good trait to have… This week: Kansas
