Rangers Send Byers To Blue Jackets For Kolarik

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets traded center Chad Kolarik to the New York Rangers on Thursday for left wing Dane Byers.

The Blue Jackets also placed left wing Kristian Huselius, who has a sprained ankle, on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 23. They added right wing Mike Blunden to their roster on emergency recall from their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield.

The 24-year-old Byers, a fourth-round pick in the 2004 draft, was assigned to Springfield.

Blunden had two goals and two assists in 40 games with the Blue Jackets a year ago.
