PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) Rutgers officials say a fan attending a football game apparently fell down a set of stairs at the New Jersey stadium and was seriously injured.
Sports information director Jason Baum says the 20-year-old man was hurt in a stairwell at the stadium in Piscataway (pihs-KAT’-uh-way).
Rutgers public safety officials say the fan suffered head injuries and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was listed in critical condition.
It was not immediately clear how the accident occurred.
The accident occurred shortly before halftime of the Big East conference game between Rutgers and Syracuse. The visiting Orangemen won 13-10 on a last-minute field goal.
