YONKERS, NY (WCBS 880) - The report hasn’t been released yet, but Yonkers Mayor Phil Amicone is furious because he says the state comptroller is blaming the city for widespread abuse and mismanagement of overtime by police.

WCBS 880’s Catherine Cioffi reports

Amicone says the audit isn’t legit.

Meanwhile, Governor-Elect Andrew Cuomo says abuse is a problem.

“It is chronic,” Cuomo told reporters including WCBS 880’s Catherine Cioffi. “It’s gone on for too long. It has to stop.”

While he couldn’t comment on the exact report, he says New York State has to deal with this to save money.

Cuomo says, “The amount of waste, the amount of fraud, in the pension system is staggering.”
