Convicted Starbucks Bomber To Be Sentenced

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Tuesday was sentencing day for the teenager convicted in the 2009 bombing of a Starbucks.

Chelsea resident Kyle Shaw was arrested shortly after the Memorial Day bombing of the Upper East Side coffee shop.

Investigators said he was imitating the Brad Pitt character from the movie "Fight Club" when he launched "Project Mayhem," an attack on corporate America.

Shaw was 17 when he filled a bottle with powder from fireworks and detonated the device in front of the store on Third Avenue and 92nd Street.

No one was injured but two windows and a bench were destroyed.
