NYPD: Robbery Suspect Posing As UPS Deliveryman

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/CBS 2) — A fake UPS deliveryman is causing some real fear in upper Manhattan.

Police have released surveillance pictures of a suspect wanted in two attempted armed robberies in Hamilton Heights.

The incidents happened 20 minutes apart on Oct. 29.

Police said the suspect — dressed in a UPS uniform — pulled a gun on his victims and demanded property from them.

Investigators say he ran off after both victims said they didn’t have any money.

Police say the man was wearing headphones during both incidents.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
