Report: Budget Cuts In The Works For NYC

NEW YORK (CBS 2) — New Yorkers need to get ready to tighten their belts.

Mayor Bloomberg was reportedly set to announce up to $1.75 billion in budget cuts  for next year.

According to the Wall Street Journal, those cuts would go into effect in January. The paper said the mayor did not specify what areas would face the budget ax.

The announcement was set for later this week.

The City was trying to close a $3 billion budget gap.

    This all from a guy who spent 106 million dollars of his own money to recieve 51% of the vote. If you listen to this guy he states that he is the best person to guide NYC through these tough finanical times. That was 10 years ago Mike, and you are still cutting.
    hey NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, when you beat the check at the Harvard Club do you at least leave a couple of bucks on the table for the wait staff? Or do you rip them off also?
