B&C Show Blog & Audio: Fear This

Bobby Dwyer

Michael Vick spoke with the media Thursday and said "no fear here of the Giants," a statement that speaks volumes about the confidence level both Vick and the Eagles have going into Sunday night's NFC East battle with New York.  The confidence is certainly not unfounded either, as the Eagles are coming off a thorough beating of the Redskins. Since that win, many have anointed Vick as MVP of the league and the Eagles as Super Bowl Champs.  Craig is not one of those people.  Boomer agrees that Vick's performance this season has been impressive, but there is still a lot of football left for the Eagles to play, and their next opponent will be a tough one.  Sticking with football - the Jets will take on the Texans at the New Meadowlands and Craigie, although he thinks they are the most overrated 7-2 team of all-time, is predicting a blow-out victory for Gang Green.  Speaking of 'green', apparently the Yankees and Derek Jeter are about $50 million apart, which is a lot of 'green'.  A lot to get to on this Friday Edition of the Boomer & Carton Morning Extravaganza…

With all of the hype (much deserved I might add) surrounding Michael Vick and the must-see TV event that will take place Sunday night in Philly, Boomer told us the two players he would stop and watch perform during his playing days - and neither of them was a quarterback.  Then he talked about the refinement of Vick as a quarterback, which prompted Craig to predict Vick will throw his first interception on Sunday.  Jerry had an update that fell of the tracks a bit, which happens quite a bit.  During the update, and I use that term loosely, we heard about bogarting grass, bursting sacs, Craig's hemorrhoid and a few sports stories as well…

Al shifted his focus from the Jets to the Giants this week when coming up with his parody song, and he also added a little Holiday spirit to the mix.  Unfortunately this wasn't one of Al's best efforts, but in his defense he has set the bar very high for himself.  Nonetheless it was very entertaining and it even included a flub…

New York Jets v Cleveland Browns

Craig was saying all morning that the Jets are the most overrated 7-2 team in football history, and that they very easily could be 2-7.  He broke it down to five plays. Just before 7:30 am he was kind enough to share them with us…

Boomer grew a little impatient with Craig and accused him of not listening.  He discovered this after watching "Boomer & Carton in 60", and Craig really didn't have much to say in his own defense.  Jerry was on-hand and he backed Boomer, which caused Craig to lash out at Jerry.  From there all hell pretty much broke loose and Craig talked about wanting to 'bed-down' First Ladies, his fascination with history, and the ignorance of Jerry…

Phil Simms heard the guys talking about him earlier on the show, and Craig ran into Simms at a charity event last night, so he called in to have a little fun.  He and Boomer exchanged a few jabs, but overall they played nice and Phil gave his take on what has become known as the Vick 'experience'…

Mike Quick played in the NFL for nine seasons, all with the Eagles and these days he calls the Eagles games on the radio (WYSP). So obviously he knows about Eagles football.  This worked out well, considering the Giants are playing the Eagles and Al booked him to come on the program…
