Nordstrom, the Seattle based department store giant, has a new store opening — and it will leave you feeling as good about yourself as you do about your closet.
The new concept store, scheduled to open the fall of 2011 at 350 W. Broadway (between Grand and Broome streets), has a somewhat novel mission: Shop for a cause. SoHo’s newest shop will be unique in that all profits will go to non-profit organizations.
The SoHo location was specifically chosen to compete with nearby Bloomingdale’s, and will occupy the ground and second floor of the 11,000 square foot building.
Nordstrom has yet to release a name for the concept store, but have said that it will not contain the Nordstrom name.
The Nordstrom brand is still looking to find a foothold in the New York market for a flagship store. Last year the chain debuted in Union Square with their “Rack” discount outlet.
