Deer Knocks Down Young Girl During NJ Race
UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J. (AP) -- An unexpected participant causes havoc in an annual holiday foot race in northern New Jersey.
Upper Saddle River police say a young girl escaped injury Thursday morning when a deer unexpectedly ran out on to the course during the 5K race and knocked her down.
The deer then fled the scene as onlookers and officials went to the girl's aid.
The child's identity was not disclosed.
