Brian Cashman will be accompanying Santa Claus on a 350-foot descent down the side of the Landmark Building in Stamford, Connecticut, Stamford Downtown Special Services District announced on Tuesday.

Brian Cashman the Yankees General Manager mentioned to Sandy Goldstein, director of the DSSD, that he would like to repel during the Stamford tradition at a summer fundraiser, Goldstein said.

Cashman will practice his descent down the Landmark Building on Friday morning before he and Santa will officially kick off the holiday season in Stamford on Sunday at 4:30PM. While Cashman and Santa are making the descent local students will be performing during a fireworks display.

Goldstein is keeping Cashman’s elf costume under wraps and said, “this is going to be a surprise for all, will he be an elf in Yankee clothing or a Yankee in elf clothing? You’ve got to come Sunday night to find out.”
