UConn Positioning Itself For BCS Berth

STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut isn't making any apologies for putting itself in position to get a BCS bowl berth.

The four-loss Huskies (7-4, 4-2) can earn at least a share of the Big East title, and the conference's automatic BCS bid if they beat South Florida (7-4, 3-3) Saturday night.

UConn holds tie-breakers over West Virginia and Pittsburgh, the other two teams with a shot at the title.

Coach Randy Edsall says the Huskies aren't worried about what other people think or say about the program.

UConn started the season 3-4, but has won four in a row to earn a shot at the big prize.

Quarterback Zach Frazer says the Huskies have gone from thinking they could win, to knowing they can win, and don't plan to let the championship slip away.
